Elder abuse law is a frightening need. More often, elder persons are abused or taken advantage of for financial gains. Many times, elder abuse comes in the form of negligence in nursing homes and other elderly housing or health care institutions. Elder abuse law can take the form of civil tort law, much like personal injury, and victims are often awarded large sums for damages cause by this type of abuse.
