Ratings are intended to help those seeking care reach conclusions about the quality care provided at individual nursing homes and serve as a guide when comparing and making choices between nursing homes. Nursing homes receive one, two or three stars based on how well each nursing home performs on importatnts measure of quality compares to all other nursing homes in California. Rated measures are grouped into four overall ratings categories: staffing, quality of facility, quality of care and finances and cost.
