Video Will Validity

Video will validity is one of the most often confused types of wills. Although a video will is a possible option for some individuals, anything that is included in the video will must also be documented through a written and notarized will on paper. If there are any deviations from a video will to the paper version of the will, the paper version of the will is used. Even if there has not been an updated that the individual intended to make, the courts will side with the paper will in virtually all situations.

Fast Facts

    • In a study done in 2007, it showed that over half of the country's adult population does not have a will.
    • Only 32 percent of African American adults have wills or estate plans in place.
